Labour Day CAS
Activity
On the first of May, the world collectively celebrates the
contribution of labour to the society. This year, the students of IBDP decided
to do something special for those who are always around us for the smooth
functioning of our life. Students decided to reduce the workload of the
kindergarten helpers and sports department, as well as gain more appreciation
for their work, by helping them organised the arrival, dispersal. There were
students stationed at the reception and at each entrance, stairs and floors
which are utilized by the students of kindergarten. Students helped lead them to
and from their classes and into their buses again and ensured that they
maintain discipline. During dispersal
students managed the parents parking and the buses send-offs. Students made the
children of KG2 play games for the day to reduce the workload of the teachers
and handlers. Overall it was a new experience that increased their
understanding of how to care for toddlers, maintain discipline without
misbehaving ourselves, co-operating with the staff and each other, and most
importantly allowed them to truly appreciate the work and effort put in by the
labour force.
